When I tell others that I am a climate advocate and spend time addressing our climate crisis, it’s not uncommon for people to ask, "What can I do to help with climate change?"
While suggestions like getting an electric vehicle, installing solar panels, or using heat pumps are common, each involves significant lifestyle changes.
I'm here to tell you that, while these actions are important, the most impactful way to address our climate crisis requires no lifestyle change at all. It lies in your power to vote.
Today, climate change is unfortunately a controversial political issue. Some candidates deny the problem or support the fossil fuel industry, hindering necessary progress. Electing leaders who prioritize climate action is essential as the government can seed and accelerate our transition to clean energy and mitigate climate risks through laws, policies, and regulations.
So, when asked, "What can I do to help with climate change?" the most impactful answer is to vote!
Vote for candidates who support clean energy initiatives.
